Applies to:

CPR training is required for some industries by OSHA regulations and/or state licensing requirements, including but not limited to:

  • Logging operations
  • Telecommunications
  • Electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution
  • Scuba diving operations
  • Child care facilities
  • Adult care facilities
  • Construction sites

Other personnel may have to be trained in first aid based upon job hazards, duties, or location (e.g "remote" locations), including but not limited to:

  • Confined space attendants
  • Designated confined space rescue personnel
  • Center for Power Electronics Systems
  • Electricians
  • Miners
  • Life guards
  • Police officers

Personnel wishing to take a First Aid/CPR class, but have no work-related requirement for it, may make arrangements with EHSS to pay for participant manuals and schedule personnel for training provided there are open slots available for the date/time selected.

  • There will be a $40.00 charge per person to the department for the First Aid/CPR/AED class.

Requirements

Personnel must attend classroom first aid/CPR training, demonstrate the required skills, and successfully pass the written exam in order to be certified. Certification is offered through the National Safety Counsel. Training certificates are issued for two years to anyone successfully completing the course.
