Exempt Specimen Shipping

The EHS Exempt Specimen Shipping module supplies required training for:

-- Classifying non-pathogenic or “exempt animal or human (patient) specimens” that have no other dangerous goods associated with them such as chemical (formalin, ethanol, buffers, etc.) and

-- Properly packaging them for shipping.

To be in compliance with regulations for shipping exempt specimens, you must receive documented training every two years.  You can be fined if you ship this type of material without being trained, or if your training has expired.

Some exempt specimens must be shipped with dry ice.  To ship with dry ice, documented training is also required.  Take EHS Dry Ice Shipping training to satisfy this requirement and to learn how to ship safely with dry ice.
