"Exempt Specimen Shipping" training will qualify you to properly classify non-infectious human or animal specimens, and properly package them for shipment by air. This training is applicable to specimens which have no dangerous goods associated with them (formalin, ethanol, etc.) Specimens containing such dangerous goods must be shipped by individuals who have taken DOT/IATA training, or by EHS. "Exempt Specimen Shipping" training must be renewed every two years. Shipping exempt specimens with dry ice requires that you also complete EHS "Dry Ice Shipping" training.
