INSTRUCTIONS:
Please provide information for one person per form. Copy the form
as needed for additional registrations. Please submit a separate form
for each guest who will participate in conference activities.
REGISTRATION OPTIONS:
Delegates
Delegates fee for the conference is $375.00. CUHWC will waive registration
fees for speakers, limited to one person per presentation.
Guests
The total guest package includes breakfasts, lunches, and social events.
Guests may participate in all conference activities (including sessions)
by registering as a delegate. The “a la carte” guest option
allows maximum choice.

ACTIVITIES:
Sunday night reception
This is our traditional reception at the conference hotel and will
feature live world
fusion belly dance, eclectic
string music, a caricaturist, cash bar, and buffet.
Monday evening
Monday night we will travel to Virginia’s
Explore Park for dinner and period entertainment. Immerse yourself
in living history! Travel along specially designed footpaths in a
hardwood forest to the Historic Areas and be entertained and enlightened
by delightful costumed interpreters at the 1671 Totero Village, the
1740 Settler's Cabin, and the 19th Century Valley Community--a true
portrait of young America.
Tuesday evening
Take a bus tour of the Virginia Tech campus
and join us for a reception on the lawn of Alumni Hall. The Montgomery
Floyd Jazz Project will provide entertainment. Take a walking tour
of campus or explore downtown Blacksburg, Virginia.
Wednesday
The first 200 registrants are eligible to attend a FREE Resource Conservation
and Recovery Act (RCRA) class sponsored by Heritage Environmental
Service on Wednesday, August 11, at the Hotel Roanoke. Required annually
per EPA (40 CFR 265.16 / 40 CFR 262.34(d)(5)(iii))
FOR A FEE ACTIVITIES (open to all):
Basic Radiation Safety Training – Sunday, August 8
Ecology Services, Inc. is offering a 4-hour training that covers the
requirements of 10 CFR part 19.12 Instruction to Workers, and 29 CFR
1910.1096 Ionizing Radiation. There is a small fee to cover lunch
costs.
Golf Outing – Sunday, August 8
If you are attending the 2004
College and University Hazardous Waste Conference this August,
you must not miss the golf outing on Sunday, August 8! Whether youre
a scratch golfer, or a duffer like the rest of us, the outing promises
to be fun.
Overlooking the beautiful Roanoke Valley of Virginia, Hanging
Rock Golf Club is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Named
one of the "Top 3 Courses in Virginia" by The Golfer's Guide
readers' survey, the course, designed by Russell Breeden, offers a
championship layout that guarantees golfers of all skill levels a
challenging and exciting round.
The fee for the entire affair is only $55. This includes transportation
to and from the course, green fees/ cart fees, a delicious meal and

Smith
Mountain Lake – Sunday, August 8
Join us for a relaxing day at Virginia’s second largest freshwater
lake. Swim, sunbathe, hike, or just rest and relax. Leave 10 am. Return
4pm.
Natural Bridge, Virginia
– Monday, August 9
Experience one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. The trip will
include a one-mile walk along Cascade Creek in the Natural Bridge
Nature Park ending at Lace Falls. Visit the Monacan Indian village
and learn how the Monacans built canoes and homes, fished and gardened
more than 300 years agao. Lunch will be on your own at the Summerhouse
Café. After lunch you will visit the Natural Bridge Caverns
where you will descend 34 stories below ground on a guided tour. Leave
9am. Return 4pm.
Blue Ridge Parkway
– Tuesday, August 10
Tour the beautiful and scenic Parkway. Arrive first at historic Mabry
Mill and take a self-guided tour featuring old-time mountain industry
exhibits including a sawmill, gristmill and woodworking shop. Have
a picnic lunch (provided) and enjoy the scenery. After lunch, enjoy
a tour of the Chateau Morrisette Winery and experience a wine tasting
and the beautiful mountain scenery. Leave 9:30 am. Return 4:30.
